Essie Bright Tights - A Neon Orange Summer!

Third post of the day, and the last! At least, until I take pictures of my current mani :)

I have for your Essie Bright Tights! It's the perfect neon orange. Like all neons, it needed white underwear, otherwise it was going to be a hot, streaky mess. I almost never wear orange but wow, this is one I'll wear all the time! I used Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear White Out for the underwear, only 2 coats of that. It's a really, really good formula white nail polish, almost on par with RBL Underwear, with the Prowide-like brush and non-streaky formula. It's about $2-3 too, which is icing on top of the cake. I used to use OPI Alpine Snow, but it just is streaky, and takes 3 opaque coats, and doesn't dry fast enough for me to put on the neon in the time frame I like (within a couple hours of applying the white).

I wasn't able to get too many pictures of Bright Tights because it was very hard to capture the true neon-ness/brightness of the color. It's so gorgeous, but definitely needs underwear to be opaque and brighter than normal. Whites always boost the brightness of a neon, so always use underwear with neons, unless it can be opaque on its own.

I love Essie's neons, they are so wonderfully bright and easy to put on (once you put on underwear, of course). They are the best ones I've used. It just sucks I couldn't wear it for more than a few days because neons, with white underwear, chips quickly, so I had to take it off after it kept chipping. No more talking, onto the pictures!

DISCLAIMER: The actual color is much more retina-searing than this!

Since I don't have my normal 30-40 pictures of my manicure (lol), I'm going to add the rest of the pictures I have of Coco that I had on my memory card.

Sinful Colors Cinderella Swatches and Review

I think today will be another multiple post day! I just don't have the organization and desire to do daily posts and wait to put up posts so it's one a day because that's just not my style. Whenever I do something at home, like clean and fold laundry, I do it all in one stretch, for four hours straight. Other days, I don't fold or clean anything because I just don't feel like it. I like to get things done all at once. I guess I'm a live in a moment kind of gal haha.

I have to give a presentation at work on Wednesday about what I learned during my internship, so writing about nail polish is getting me on a writing roll! Anyways, today I have for you Sinful Colors Cinderella. I'm sure you've seen tons and tons of swatches of it on numerous blogs that expound the wonderful qualities of the beautiful color, and I'm here to add to that litany of praises.

Cinderella is a baby blue color with copper/orange/red/pink glass fleck shimmer. It's absolutely stunning in the sun. Under fluorescent/inside lighting, you mainly see the baby blue but there is a hint of the glass fleck. It's not like the hidden shimmer in Dior polishes where you have to tilt your hand 45 degrees while 2 inches away from the light source to see the shimmer, but rather a secret flash of shimmer, kind of like a dress with a long slit that you don't notice until the person wearing the dress moves. Sooooo pretty.

It sucks I couldn't get too many pics of Cinderella outside, so I had to resort to taking most of the pics at the office. These were taken a couple of days after I first put it on - so there was some tipwear. I'm sure you can find better pictures elsewhere, but here's my review and swatches!

It was a little harder to apply because the formula was a little runny, so I had to do three coats. It was slightly streaky, which made it harder to get totally even, which is why I had to do three coats. Totally worth it though, it's a gorgeous color!

Do you see the beautiful shimmer? It's so hard to capture with my crappy old camera, but it's there!

Lyn B Designs Cacophony Swatches + Review (Pic Heavy!!)

How are you guys doing? I'm getting ready to go back to school in two weeks! It's so crazy that my internship ends the day before I fly back to school! I have a review of Lyn B Design's Cacophony for you today! I saw her designs on Etsy when I was browsing around for new Etsy sellers  (there's always new ones popping up - I just bought 3 from Polish Revolution, who opened her store yesterday!). She has a large inventory for an Etsy seller, so I spent a good hour or two looking lol. I couldn't find too many swatches, so I just went with my gut and bought colors that I knew I'd love, glitters with buildable jelly bases. When I bought from her store, she had a buy 2 get 1 sale, so I had to jump on that!

Cacophony was up my alley because it's 1) blue, 2) full of glitter (hex!!), and 3) is a jelly! I love it so much that I'm still wearing it, and I put it on last Wednesday, and I almost never wear nail polish longer than four days usually. I only have minimal tip wear, which is amazing considering how much I do with my nails. Only one finger, my index finger on my right hand, had a horrible chip, which warranted me to pick it all off and then put on a different Lyn B Designs color - Ragtime Roses (my bonus polish). I've noticed so many American female Olympians who've done really funky and cool patriotic nail designs, so I wanted a red accent finger with Cacophony. Ragtime Roses is the red counterpart of Cacophony, minus the holographic hex glitter and the square glitter (red jelly glitter). Sadly I couldn't get pictures of it before it chipped and I took it off :(

It applied perfectly in 2 thick coats, and I used a third to cover some patches on some fingers. It has beautiful depth, which I tried to capture with my camera in different lighting, in a sunny parking lot, inside with flash, even at the grocery store underneath the bright lights! When not under bright lights, Cacophony looks like it a deep blue jelly with silver hex and square glitter. It's pretty under every lighting!

Enough talking, onto the pics (caution - many, many pictures)!

Lyn B Design's bottles - really long skinny brush, but it looks super cool and doesn't interfere with the application.

I'm going to miss the Olympics so much! What are you nostalgic for at the end of your summer?
