Neon Rainbow Nail Art

This is my attempt at rainbow nail art. I don't really do it much because it takes me forever whenever I try, and usually doesn't end up as perfect as I wanted it to be. I have no patience for painstakingly painting Spongebob on my nails, leaning over and straining my neck for four hours! I did this time though (it isn't Spongebob however) because it was part of my costume.

Every year my school has a festival to celebrate the end of classes, and this year the theme was "Genesis". Some people went as the game console Genesis (remember that? So long ago!), and some people dressed up as Abe Lincoln (I didn't understand the connection lol). I dressed up as a rainbow! I had a friend who went as a rain cloud, and we just happened to match together.

I did my nails with neon colors, using a white base (RBL Underwear) and a bunch of bright, neon colors to represent the rainbow! I can't remember exactly what I used, but I remember using OPI Big Apple Red, Revlon Royal, Color Club Disco Dress, some Essie neons, China Glaze In the Limelight, a neon orange from Color Club. I apologize for the weird stains on my hands, there was a small Holi celebration and I got pigments all over myself!

Pictures using flash:

This is my left hand. I made different patterns on each finger on both hands!

If you were wondering how I did my nails this way, I used a small dish filled with pure acetone, and a very thin nail brush and just dipped and painted, like I would with watercolor. It turned out pretty neat! I even got some compliments from guys who were stunned and mesmerized by how intense and cool looking my nails were!

The picture below is most true to life to what my mani looked like:

That's it for now! I'll break up my post so there won't be a ton of pictures to load!

Nicole by OPI Holiday's Glaze and China Glaze Shaken Not Stirred

Third post of the day! I'm having a productive blogging day at work lol. I found a lot of old pics of manis on my flickr, and these pics are just the last of them.

This is Nicole by OPI Holiday's Glaze. It's a pink holo, and it's gorgeous, a linear holo that shines in even low light.

In case you're wondering, I'm holding Chanel Cristalline, a really, really old Chanel color that's similar to Chanel Intermezzo, just with more of a pearly pink finish.

This is China Glaze Shaken Not Stirred. These pics were taken before I knew how to work the macro function on my camera, so I apologize for the really crap pictures. It's a beautiful pink-tinged purple glass-fleck. You really can't see anything clearly, so you'll just have to refer to other bloggers' beautiful pictures of it to really appreciate the beauty of it.

China Glaze Shaken Not Stirred (holding BB Couture Diamond Dust)

I'm holding BB Couture Diamond Dust in the pictures. It's such a pretty topper for nail polish! I rarely layer nail polish, but this is one that I still need to try out!

Nars Orgasm

My beloved Nars Orgasm. I love the color! I used it once before and thought I had lobster hands (it was probably in the summer, when I was tanner). My friend has always wanted to get it, but she doesn't want to roll out the dough for it, so she's just been buying dupes of it (like Zoya Cassi). But here it is in all it's peachy pink glory! No lobster hands!

Christmas Patchwork mani + Lippmann Love Shack konadicure

I loved Lippmann Love Shack, but after a few days it started getting chips so I just konadified it so I could wear it for a few days longer. I didn't feel like dealing with acetone. It was too cute - so cute that I couldn't stand it and put Milani Gems over it. And then Poshe. It was so thick, but I loved it so much that I kept it for another day longer. Removal was pretty easy - it was so thick I just popped the whole thing off!

My current manicure - my Christmas/holiday themed patchwork mani. I used China Glaze Ruby Pumps, Emerald Sparkle, Rescue Beauty Lounge Underwear, and China Glaze Party Hearty over the white. I used scotch tape to make the perfect straight lines. It took a while, but totally worth it! So ready for the holidays!

Milani Gems FX Nail Polish - LOVE!!!

I LOVE this nail polish! It is so shiny and fabulous. I took a ton of pics because that's how much I love it. I put it over my Lippmann Love Shack konadicure because I wanted an opaque base for Gems. Gems is a multicolored glitter nail polish in a clear base. It's similar to Lippmann Happy Birthday because of the large hexagonal glitter, but Gems has two different sized hexagonal glitter pieces while HB only has large glitter pieces with smaller square pieces. It looks better over a silver foil color. It looks like the holiday version of HB! Love it!!!

UPDATE: In case you were wondering what the peachy pink color underneath was, it was Deborah Lippmann Love Shack.
