Super Belated Holiday Patchwork Mani!

I'm back again! I have pictures of my Christmas/holiday patchwork mani I did this year. I didn't want to take it off, but the tipwear was getting on my nerves! I snapped the pictures on day 3 or 4. It lasted a while! I looooove patchwork manicures! They are easy to do (which is why I do them) but tend to be time consuming because I have to wait for things to dry and it usually takes me a few hours because I don't always do them, usually 5 times a year max, and only for holidays (so I can break out the color schemes). 

I did the same color scheme as I have in my previous years of doing the Christmas patchwork mani - red, white and green, with a red and green glitter topped over the white. This year I used Sally Hansen Red Carpet (amazing red glitter in a jelly base, dupe for China Glaze Ruby Pumps), Elianto Racing Green (beautiful foil green with gold glitter), Sally Hansen White On (one of the best whites I have ever used, hands down), and Sephora by OPI Good Tidings We Bling! as the glitter topper. I wish the $OPI didn't have a slightly dark base, because it muddied the white and made it less prominent than I had wanted. Click the pictures to enlarge! 

And please ignore the time stamps, I was night kayaking and capsized, with my camera in my pocket to take night photos. To my surprise it survived and still works fine, but it reset itself and so the time stamp does not match the actual time, and I use the SD slot in my computer to transfer pictures so it can't correct itself :)

Another 4th of July mani, One Year and a Day Late!

I had a niggling feeling that I had done an Independence Day patchwork mani before, and I found the pics of the one I had done last year for July 4th on my Flickr account! Here they are:

My left hand. I loved the flag I did, though it literally took almost an hour to do just one finger because I wanted the stripes to be perfectly straight. I didn't have striping tape, so I just stuck to using the Sinful Colors nail art polishes with the thin brush and went very slowly to make perfectly straight lines. It was such a pain in the butt that I resorted to doing my handy dandy signature patchwork because it was much easier to do and still was an eye-catcher! I can't remember the name of the blue, but it was the Sinful Colors bottle I was holding in my hand, and was on display for the 4th of July last year, along with the nail pens. The white was Rescue Beauty Lounge (RBL) Underwear, and the red creme was RBL Chinoise. The stars are a random cheapie n/p. I remember rushing to do this patchwork because it was late, and I had to go to sleep, so it isn't as sharp as I usually like (like the one I did for this year, in the post before this one).

My right hand. I am right-handed, so doing nail art on my right hand is a bit of a challenge sometimes, but I am getting better at writing with my left hand with so much practice! I was so tired I didn't even bother doing a patchwork, so I just resorted to a funky french, with RBL Chinoise for the red, and RBL Dead Calm for the blue.

At the county fair, I usually wander around alone because my dad is off at the horse races all day, so I'm left to myself. I try to read outside for a while, get bored and hot, and then walk around, seeking solace in the air-conditioned buildings. I really like looking at the mostly student artwork, some by adults, and this picture was one submitted by an adult! I was happily surprised to see a picture of nail polish. I think I identified the polish as China Glaze Atlantis (that's how I get people to believe I have over 1000, prob. 2000 n/p is by ID'ing what they are wearing!). It was so cool I took a picture of the picture lol.

Sassy Lacquer July 4th Glitter Patchwork Mani!

I have a new indie seller I love! I recently purchased from Carrie of Sassy Lacquer from her Storenvy front here. I purchased Uncle Sam, Pegasus Jizz (and Plasma...they are the same color, just different names, but more on that later), Chameleon Charge, and Electric Eel.

This is my current mani, to commemorate the 4th of July, America's Birthday, Independence day, etc. I don't think I've ever done a patchwork mani for the 4th of July, otherwise I would have taken pics and put it up on my blog here lol. Anyways, I decided to do one because it's been a year since I've done a patchwork mani, and I had the right colors to do it! I used Orly Lunar Eclipse for the blue, Barry M Red Glitter for the red part, Wet n Wild French White Creme for the white creme, and Sassy Lacquer Uncle Sam for the blue, white and red glitter over the white creme!

Sassy Lacquer Uncle Sam (such a great name for the polish!) has blue, silver, red, and white square glitter, with smaller blue, red and white round glitter, and and blue, red and white bar glitter! It's simply brilliant! It's a pity that the white creme hides makes the white glitter pieces hard to see! I'm wearing it over Hard Candy Envy on my toes (didn't include a pedi pic, but will soon!), and all the glitter is prominent and eye catching! Anyways, here's my festive mani!

St. Patrick's Day Patchwork Mani!

Happy St. Patrick's Day! The obligatory greeting and asking your friends after inspecting their clothing and accessories before pinching them is NOT something I do - I'm just to tired for that! I did, however, did an awesome patchwork mani with a green scheme, three different greens, Finger Paints Lucky in Love Lime for the Shrek-ish green part, China Glaze Emerald Sparkle for the deep dark but still glittery green, and Nubar Lime Green Glitter for the sparkly lime part (Hard Candy Sweet P is a dupe of it). I initially used Zoya Ivanka, but since I was doing my mani at night, it was hard for me to tell Ivanka and Emerald Sparkle apart (I couldn't make the lines straight if I can barely tell them apart in the dark). I'll stop talking about the festive patchwork and let the pictures speak for themselves!

This is so much green goodness, I feel like I've overloaded...on green. I never thought that would be possible!

Valentine's Day Patchwork Mani

I love doing patchwork manis, despite the hour and a half or more it takes to do one. It just looks amazing afterwards, and that's where I get my satisfaction :)

This patchwork mani was done using Sally Hansen Lavender Cloud, OPI Pink Me I'm Good, Nicole by OPI Honeydew You Love Me, and Essie Ruby Slippers. I thought about using cremes, but that would not have been eye-catching as glitters. I thought about using ChG Ruby Pumps for the red glitter, but the glitter was not as visible as Ruby Slippers, and the glitter size was too small in RP (I wanted the glitter sizes to be the same in PMIG and the red color).

I love doing themed manicures with a few different colors, so that it's not just red, or just pink, or pink hearts, etc. Just wanted to put out something different, and something pretty that isn't just monochromatic. I have a lot of trouble deciding on just one color, so why not three (or four, if you count the glitter).

Christmas Patchwork mani + Lippmann Love Shack konadicure

I loved Lippmann Love Shack, but after a few days it started getting chips so I just konadified it so I could wear it for a few days longer. I didn't feel like dealing with acetone. It was too cute - so cute that I couldn't stand it and put Milani Gems over it. And then Poshe. It was so thick, but I loved it so much that I kept it for another day longer. Removal was pretty easy - it was so thick I just popped the whole thing off!

My current manicure - my Christmas/holiday themed patchwork mani. I used China Glaze Ruby Pumps, Emerald Sparkle, Rescue Beauty Lounge Underwear, and China Glaze Party Hearty over the white. I used scotch tape to make the perfect straight lines. It took a while, but totally worth it! So ready for the holidays!
